At midnight Abhay entered in Khurana Mansion all drunk, his steps were faltering, he reached his room stumbling, he was opened the door and entered in his room, the entire room was dark, only moonlight was coming through balcony open door, his eyes fell on the bed where Ruhanika was sleeping in sitting position, from this it could be guessed that she fell aslee waiting for him.

He felt his heart heavy seeing Ruhanika innocent face, he was remembering how he ruined her life.

Flashback

(8 month ago, Paris)

"Stop it Abhay, how much more will you drink, look at your condition", Kartik said with concern looking at Abhay dishelved appearance, they were in a club, Abhay had called Kartik to drink with him. "Yrr what should I do, it is paining a lot here", Abhay's voice was slurred and pointed towards his chest. 

Kartik looked at his friend with painful eyes, "Stop it yrr, 3 years have passed, how long will you stay like this, let's go back to India, aunty is very worried about you", Kartik said putting his hand over his shoulder. 

"No, I will not go there, that place reminds me of her", Abhay said tighten his grip on the glass. "Well, and for how long will you stay away from your family, you know what she has become now". 

"SR.., the cold and ruthless queen of the corporate world, I know and I hate her, I hate her to the core of my heart, she is behind my every pain and agony, I will never forgive her Kartik, I will destroy her completely", he said with gritted teeth. 

"Abhay forget everything now move ahead in your life, why are you tormenting yourself", kartik tried to make him understand. Abhay jerked Kartik's hand away from his shoulder and shouted, "Forget it.. how, how should I forget it, she has taken my brother's life, she has broken both my trust and heart". 

Some people around them looked at him, Kartik held his hand and making him sit said, "calm down, I didn't mean..", but Abhay cut him off.

"I will not listen to anything, I will never forgive her, and she will have to bear the consequences of her actions", he said and stood up and went towards the restroom, he splashed some water on his face, he looked at his face in mirror, tired and exhausted face but pain in his eyes, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. 

"You'll pay for this Sia..", he muttered and came out of the restroom, as he turned, someone collided at him, before that person fell, he saved from falling, he looked at the person and he got lost in that person, it was a girl, her eyes closed her hair fell on her face, her face looked innocent, he tucked her hair behind her ear, she opened her eyes and his grey eyes met with her amber eyes which was slightly red and puffy.

"Ruhanika..", they heard a man voice from behind. she stiffened in her place, suddenly she grabbed Abhay collar before he reacted, her soft lips on him kissing him, a shiver ran down in his spine, he wanted to push her but his body doing otherwise,

he pulled her close and kissed her passionately it's like alcohol consumed his mind, The man who was behind them went away in anger. She broke the kiss when she struggled in breath.

"umm.. I'm sorry", she said and before Abhay said anything Kartik voice came from behind, Abhay turned and saw Kartik towards him, as he turned to look at Ruhanika, she already left, he looked her retrieving figure.

"I can never forget our first encounter Rooh..", he muttered standing beside her, he properly laid her on the bed and covered her with a blanket, as he stood she grabbed his hand in sleep.

"Abhay ji please don't leave me..", she muttered in sleep. He felt a pang of guilt and pain, he slowly took his hand away with her hand and came to the washroom. 

He entered the shower, the cold water hitting his body and slowly his intoxication started to wear off, he closed his eyes and remembered Ruhanika's tear streaken face in the morning.

No matter how much he tries to convince himself that he doesn't like Ruhanika, but whenever her tears come in front his eyes, he feels a strange pain in his heart which he always avoided to admit.

After taking shower he came back in the room, he laid down on the sofa and looked at her face, "I'm sorry for hurting you Rooh..", he muttered under his breath, he felt his eye lid getting heavy and sleep consumes him. 

Kabir's POV

2 days later

It's been 2 days since I last saw her, after her fight with her father, I knew that she didn't like her dad but that day I got to know the reason and somewhere she is right how can a father behaves likes this with his own daughter.

I saw how she was just yearning for her dad's love, and the way she remembers the days on counts, literally 14 years yearning for his love, how can he be so heartless.

When her father raised his hand, I felt rage within me so much that I want to beat the shit out of him, I was stunned on my own thought, but the way he is treating her, and said so many things without any guilt, it was heartbreaking.

when the lone tear came out of her eyes I felt someone ripped my heart, I didn't want to feel it but it hurt me, and he accused her for something she didn't do, how can she is tolerating his behaviour, is he always behave her with so much cruelty, she didn't deserve this.., no one deserve that much cruelty from their own parents.

At last when he gives the choice to marry the man he chose or leave her family was the most heartbreaking thing, her eyes was looking at him with disbelief, how cam a father just disown his own child.

I wanted to console her, to be with her but she pushed me away and told me out of her cabin, after that I didn't see her, and now its been two days, she didn't come company and today is my last day in office.

"Will she not come today?" I thought looking at her cabin and for the first time, I felt something off in myself, I want to see her, to feel her presence, I remember every time her hazel eyes met with me, I just lost somewhere, something in her presence which is overwhelming but still safe.
When I had joined the company I used to be afraid of her anger, but after that alley incident her behaviour changed, she didn't shout at me and I felt a pull towards her.

No matter how much I try to convince my heart, I could not stop myself from being drawn towards her. When I heard how she was planning to take revenge on Abhay Khurana I was upset because those tactics were so bad.

But whatever happened after that, I forgot all the old things. I don't know why. I was not able to see her condition. She looks vulnerable but still tried to look strong in front of everyone. When she hugged me that day, my mind was telling me to push her but my heart wanted to just embrace her more tightly and when I felt the warm tear on my neck I just couldn't resist and caressed her back, I was feeling something I never felt to console someone.

I know I'm going on the wrong path but now even if I try I can't go back, because I'm falling for her and in these two days I'm sure, because I didn't able to sleep in these two days whenever I close my eyes I saw her vulnerable state and it became me restless.

I asked Victor about her but he said he also didn't know, last night pihu called me, she was upset she told that her mumma didn't come since two days and now I'm feeling scared, what if something happened to her, no no.. mahadev please keep her safe., I somehow managed to divert her mind and told her that I'll meet her today.

It's already lunch time, but I don't feel like eating anything so I just sat in my cabin there is no meeting today, as I thought she would not come today.  I saw the lift door opening from the glass wall of my cabin.

She entered the floor, her expression was unreadable, she looked at me through the glass wall and gestured for me to come into her cabin, I stood hesitantly and followed her and entered her cabin, as we entered she sat on her chair with elegance, I stood in front of the table.

"What is today's schedule..", she asked in her usual cold voice. 

"Ma'am, I don't know whether you come or not I have postponed the meeting, there are no meetings today, just a few files, I need your signature", I replied calmly, I want to ask her where she was since the last 2 days but couldn't gathered the courage but seeing her completely fine I felt relief.

"Ok give me files and after half an hour we are going to check the construction site of the new project", she said without looking at me, I want her to talk to me looking in my eyes but she didn't even look at me and I felt my heart sinking.

I went to my cabin and came back with some files and give it to her, she looked over the files before sighing the files.

After half an hour we came out of the company, as the driver opened the door she said, "you're not coming kabir you'll drive". She glanced at me for a moment before sitting in the passenger seat.

I took keys from the driver and sat on driver seat, i set the location, it was away from the city, the site will soon turned into a luxury place for living. There was heavy silence in the ride, I looked at her with side eyes but she was continuously looking in her phone.

"Stop looking at me and concentrate on driving", she said suddenly looking at me, I nearly jumped on my seat, heat crept on my neck and ear in embarrassment. She closed her phone and rested her head on the headrest and closed her eyes.

After that I didn't dared to look at her, we reached the place in 1 and half hour, she came out of the car and looked around to see the progress, it's commendable that the progress is going fast. 

I remember in my initial days I saw the blue print and now almost half the work is completed. She roamed there and sometimes pointed some mistake to the workers, the whole evening went into this, at 6 she finally told to go back.

We sat in and I started the car, barely 10 minutes passed when her low yet dangerous voice came in my ear, "Speed up the car", her eyes fixing on the side mirror.

I looked at my side mirror and my eyes widen, I saw many cars were following us. "Don't stop the car until I say..", she said and open dashboard compartment my whole body shook, she took out a gun, she looked at me her eyes were a little soft she put her hand on my hand over the steering wheel.

"Just calm down and drive carefully, I promise nothing will happen to you", she said softly caressing my knuckles, I felt a little relax and looked in her hazel eyes with trust. 

I sped up the car, she opened the roof and stood steady, my heart was thumping loudly in my chest, "bacha lijiyega mahadev.." I prayed and heard a gun shot, I felt my heart come in my mouth, fear gripping my whole body.

I tightly gripped the steering wheel, my knuckles turning white but trying to focus on driving "Kabir careful", she said with concern, I looked in the side mirror, a man was aiming our car  tire, as he shot I turned the car side at very moment, I didn't realize how long I had stopped my breath, I sighed and speed the car more, the gun shot rangs in my ears.

I felt churn in my stomach but tried to be steady our life is at stake. I was so much lost in surviving thought that I didn't notice when another man shot our back left tyre, "Kabir.." her screamed came back me in sense but it was late the bullet already hit the tire and I put the feet on brake, the car stopped with a screeching sound.

My head almost touched the steering wheel but I was lucky wearing the seatbelt. but then I heard her pained voice and I turned my head and saw her sitting back in seat

Oh shit.. she must be hurt in her back cause of sudden halt, she closed her eyes and tightened her hand on gun, she is trying so much to endure the pain, my eyes widen as I saw her white shirt arm turning to red.

She opened her eyes and looked at me with a worried expression "Kabir quickly went out of the car and ran away far from here", she said her voice was low yet I can feel pain in her eyes, she was clutching her arm tightly.

"Have you been shot", I asked with panic looking at her arm. "Kabir, I'm fine go, they will kill you", she said with concern voice. my body froze for a moment. Will they really kill us but how can I leave her like this no I can't.

I shook my thoughts and took out my handkerchief and tied around her arm, it like the bullet just passes away from her arm. "We will out of this together", I said.

"Kabir no I can't risk your life", "and I can't let you die..", I said desperately clutching her hand, "please.. sia ji.. I can't.., let's go they are coming..", I  said and came out of the car they are just a few meters away she also came out, she grab my hand and we ran towards the jungle, I hear those man shouting.

"Find her we have killed her", my grip tightens on her hand, no.. nothing will happen to her.

Author's POV
That entire area was a jungle. Both of them were running away, slowly it started getting dark too, her feet started paining because of the heels, they could still hear those men shouting and footsteps. "Kabir leave me you run away I can't..", Sia said huffing, she was feeling dizzy because of losing blood.

"Sia ji just a little bit", Kabir said.

"Kabir I can't please", she said panting kabir grabbed her by the shoulders and led her behind a large tree and made her sit, "damn it where are they", they heard a man voice shout, they held back their breath and looked at each other's eyes, Sia grip tighten on her gun and with other hand she grabbed kabir hand, her eyes fierce.

"Listen Kabir, I will distract them, you run away from here, okay..", she said and stood but before she take any step kabir pulled her back, she stumble but kept her hands on his shoulder, their eyes met and they lost in each other eyes, her hair falling on her face, he tucked her hair behind her ear a shiver ran down in her body, she can feel his warm hand on her face caressing her cheeks.

"We will go through all this together".

"Why.. why are you doing this Kabir.. are you not scared of dying", she whispered, their face inches apart.

"Everyone is afraid of death but at this time I am more afraid of losing you than death", he whispered back eye locking her with intensity, she was stunned hearing his words.

"Kabir.. you..", she was saying when he put a finger on her lips, her grip tightened on his shoulder. Sia heard footsteps coming closer to them, she thinks and looked around, she picked a stone and throw far to other side.

Those men heard that voice and went towards other side, she felt relief and as she again turned to look at Kabir he was already looking at her, she quickly took her hand back and took a step back but her step landed on a stone and she slip falling behind but Kabir held her waist and save her from falling. The rain starting making them wet.

She looked in his eyes lost in his brown eyes, "Kabir.. what.. are you doing..", she asked nervously, she was surprised by herself she never felt this nervousness in front of anyone.  

Kabir made her stand but did not let go of his waist.

"Ye to mujhe aapse puchna chahiye.. aakhir kya hai jo mei aapki taraf khicha aa raha hu, kyu aapki nazdikiyan mujhe effect kar rahi hai.., mei door jana chahta tha par jab in do dino mei aapko nhi dekha to aisa laga jaise koi mujhse meri saanse cheen raha ho, bechaini si mehsoos ho rahi thi mujhe, aapko khone ka darr aa gya tha", he said with raw emotion, her breath was stuck in her throat.

(I must ask you this, what is it that I am being drawn towards you, why is your closeness affecting me, I wanted to go away but when I did not see you in these two days, it felt as if someone is snatching my breath from me, I was feeling restless, I was scared of losing you)

"Ab jab aap mere pass hai, aapse ek pal ko bhi door hona mujhse bardash nhi ho raha", he whispered in her ear sending shiver in her body.

(Now that I have you, I can't bear to be away from you even for a moment)
